Plein Air Landscape Painting in Gouache (DCAD)
A two day workshop in Wilmington Delaware, offered through the Continuing Education Department of the Delaware College of Art and Design
We painted in Wilmington’s Rockford Park, and in Talley Day Park in Brandywine Hundred.
Topics included techniques for choosing a subject, planning a landscape, working out your composition in a sketch, mixing colors, blocking in, adding details and textures, mixing water with gouache to achieve the best consistency, compensating for color shifts and using different brushes for a variety of effects.
Workshops will be conducted in a public park within 3 miles of the school (at this point, most likely Rockford Park, which can be easily reached without going through center city Wilmington).
