A weekend workshop in plein air painting in the fun and forgiving medium of gouache (opaque watercolor), presented by the Delaware Art Museum.
This time we will be painting out in front of the Museum, along the beautiful Kentmere Parkway. This will give us plenty of shade and allow us to explore techniques for painting architecture as well as trees and foliage.
Water mixable oil paint will be provided for the workshop, in addition to water mixable thinner and medium, and palette cups. Here is the suggested materials list for other materials.
The workshop will include painting demo by the instructor, as well as individual instruction for each participant.
Techniques will include choosing a landscape composition, oil paint handling, mixing a wide range of colors from a simplified palette, and creating textures for trees, grasses as well as architectural elements.
Cost: $105 ($85 for museum members) for two sessions of three hours each.
